The Rev. Jesse Douglas Sr., now 84, an African American who looked white, is a true pioneer of the civl rights movement who now lives in Mint Hill. He was part of the March on Washington and one of the planners of the Selma-to-Montgomery march. He was also a friend of King’s and in the inner councils of King’s SCLC. Video by John D. Simmons
